The Oxford Tropical Network (OTN) Conference will take place from Tuesday 13th March to Friday 16th March 2018 at the Sheraton Saigon Hotel and Towers in the centre of Ho Chi Minh City.

The Conference is an opportunity for colleagues and collaborators from across the entire Oxford Tropical Network, whether they work internationally or in Oxford, to come together to learn more about each other’s research and to develop new ideas and collaborations.

The Conference is open to delegates by invitation only; if you would like to attend and have not received an invitation please contact OTN2018@oucru.org.

On Tuesday 13th March registration for the OTN 2018 will open from 1730 – 2130 on the Night Spot, on the 23rd floor of the Sheraton hotel. All delegates are invited to a Welcome Reception from 1900-2130, in the same place.

The conference will begin in Ballroom 1 & 2 with an opening welcome from Prof. Chris Conlon, Interim Head of the Nuffield Department of Medicine. The scientific programme will include international speakers, presentations, e-posters and workshops, as well as social events.

In the evening, the OTN 2018 is pleased to invite you to enjoy a performance of the world renowned Teh Dar show, followed by dinner at the Hotel Continental.

On Thursday 15th March, the scientific programme will continue. There will also be an opportunity for clinically trained delegates who have registered to take part in ward rounds at the Hospital of Tropical Diseases (within which OUCRU HCMC is based). Registration for ward rounds is now closed. There will be a social event in the evening at The Deck Restaurant, including a wellcome drink, dinner, and performances by each of the Units represented at the OTN and the OTN Band.

On Friday 16th March, the scientific programme will continue at 0900 with Parallel Sessions, and again there will be an opportunity for delegates who have registered to take part in ward rounds. The OTN will conclude at midday with a plenary from Prof Gavin Screaton, Head of the Medical Sciences Division, University of Oxford.

Following his plenary, delegates are invited to join a final lunch. Delegates who have registered will be able to join an informal tour of OUCRU in the afternoon.

Throughout the conference, we are delighted that Drawnalism will be ‘documenting’ discussions. Their work will be displayed in the Ballroom Foyer area throughout the OTN 2018.
