OUCRU laboratory management

OUCRU laboratories provide support to the unit’s extensive clinical research programme, from level 2 laboratory to SAPO 4 laboratory for high-risk pathogens responsible for zoonotic infections. Early diagnosis and detection of antimicrobial resistance help prescribe the right medicine in time, contributing to better patient management.

OUCRU Head of Laboratories

Motiur Rahman works as Head of Laboratories for the Oxford University Clinical Research Unit (OUCRU) in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, and oversee the “OUCRU laboratory program” in Vietnam, Indonesia and Nepal. The activities includes improving capacity, enhancing quality and ensuring regulatory compliance and safety of the OUCRU and national collaborating institute laboratories (clinical, research and public health laboratories, insectariums, biosafety level 3 (BSL3) laboratories, and bio-banking facilities). OUCRU BSL2 and BSL3 laboratories are accredited by MoH, Vietnam and the laboratories are implementing GCLP standards for ensuring quality.
