Alumna Zineb Bentounsi (cohort 2018-2019) co-authored an overview on the current state of surgical care in sub-Saharan Africa, particularly on anaesthesia care. 

They concluded that research on the safety, quality and volume of surgeries and anaesthesia procedures is scarce. They advise there is a need for more attention to this subject in this particular setting.
