Biography

Barney joined GRAM in 2018, and manages a wide range of strategic projects and stakeholder relationships. This includes efforts to expand the team's network of international collaborators, and to promote the group among researchers, policy officials, health professionals and other stakeholders. Previously, Barney served in a similar role at the WorldWide Antimalarial Resistance Network (WWARN), in Oxford’s Centre for Tropical Medicine and Global Health.

Barney is a social science researcher and journalist with a broad background in communications and public policy that includes experience as a UK government policy advisor, politics lecturer and investigative reporter. Barney holds a BA from UC Berkeley, and an MSc and Doctorate in Politics from Oxford.
