Last week’s 25 years celebrations at KEMRI - Wellcome Trust, Centre for Geographic Medicine Research - Coast Kilifi County, Faith Osier and Abdisalan Noor were awarded awarded the title of visiting professors at the University of Oxford. This announcement came from Professor Sir Peter Ratcliffe at the 25 years of KWTRP celebrations in Kilifi.
Faith Osier was recently this year awarded the Royal Society Pfizer Prize Award 2014. An award considered one of the most prestigious prizes and recognizes Faith's valuable and innovative contribution to the biological sciences in Africa. Faith has in the past received other awards in health research and science.
Abdisalan Noor is a researcher with KEMRI - Wellcome Trust and currently the Head of the Spatial Epidemiology Unit in the Department of Public Health Research. Noor has previously received awards in malaria research for his work in Kenya and in Africa.
