Drug-Resistant Infections and Disease Dynamics group
The DRIaDD group works on drug-resistant bacterial infections and other communicable disease including influenza, hepatitis E, and SARS-CoV-2.
Major research themes include:
- Quantifying the burden of disease due to these pathogens
- Developing and evaluating interventions to reduce this disease burden
- Improving our basic understanding of their epidemiology and population biology
- Developing new methods to support the above.
Members of the group use a diverse array of methodologies including novel statistical approaches, mechanistic mathematical models, qualitative research methods, analyses of whole genome sequencing and meta-genomic data, health economics, meta-analyses and prospective intervention studies including randomised trials.
