Catherine Goodman: The story of the Affordable Medicines Facility - malaria

This discussion is centered on surveys recently done on accessibility to anti-malarial drugs globally and artemisinin-based combination therapies (ACTs). ACTs which have been highly effective are recommended treatment for malaria but despite free or highly subsidised public sector provision, access is still poor. Catherine Goodman discusses survey results on uptake, accessibility, pricing, subsidies, supply chains and supporting interventions to ensure effective ACT scale-up.
