Reem Hafez: Financing health in China
Reem Hafez highlights how financing of health care in China has rapidly evolved. Reem’s presentation brings out the challenges that China faced at the dawn of healthcare reforms from limited government funding, lack of insurance coverage, unaffordable access to healthcare etc. to suggestions based on research on ‘How to ensure that the additional funding will result in cost-effective, quality health care services’.
Reem Hafez is a DPhil student in the Nuffield Department of Population Health. Her research aims to better understand the impact of health insurance on financial risk protection in rural China.
