Acrobat Pro offers tools to create accessible PDFs and check the accessibility of existing PDFs.

How to make a PDF accessible using Acrobat Pro

  • Open PDF using Adobe Acrobat Pro
  • Select Tools > Action wizard > Make Accessible > Start and follow instructions
  • Save

This procedure allows to add a title, author, language, any missing alt text for images etc.

How to check a PDF for accessibility

We suggest to make the PDF accessible first (see steps above), and then check for accessibility

  • Open PDF using Adobe Acrobat Pro
  • Select Tools > Accessibility > Accessibility check > Start checking

If you add a file to share via a link, please chose the option 'People in Nexus365 with a link can view', and untick the editing option.
