3-min Thesis Competition by OUCRU & MORU
Together, MORU and sister unit OUCRU work to enhance postgraduate learning include improved academic ecosystems, a larger, more connected student and supervisory network, fostering excellence in mentorship, and championing communicating science and research. The MORU-OUCRU 3-Minute Thesis (3MT) is an annual competition that cultivates MORU and OUCRU PhD students’ academic, presentation and research communication skills. In three qualifying rounds, participating PhD students are challenged to explain their research in three minutes, in a language appropriate to a non-specialist audience. Shortlisted participants go on to the Grand Final 3MT Thesis Competition, held at the end of the year before a live audience, with big prizes available for the best talks as voted by our expert panel of judges and invited local high school students.
