Mathematical Modeler
Babak is a mathematical modeler with research interests and expertise which cut across various disciplines, including computer science, engineering, geography, social, network and health sciences.
The unifying theme throughout much of the research has involved building models of complex systems/phenomena for informing policy decision making.
At Oxford, he is currently a member of the AToME research group involved in the development of individual-based models applied to the epidemiology of malaria which incorporate demographic processes, network geography, transmission and within-host dynamics used to evaluate various elimination driven interventions and their cost-efficiency.
