Bethany Shinkins

Bethany is an Associate Professor in the Academic Unit of Health Economics at the University of Leeds. 

She is also the Deputy Director (Methodology) of the NIHR Leeds In Vitro Diagnostics Co-operative and the lead health economist for the NIHR Global Health Research Group in Surgical Technologies. Bethany sits on the Editorial Board for the BMJ Evidence-Based Medicine Journal and is an Honorary Fellow of the Centre for Evidence-Based Medicine, University of Oxford

Bethany previously worked at the Nuffield Department of Primary Care Health Sciences, University of Oxford as an NIHR Post-Doctoral Research Fellow in medical statistics. Amongst other projects, she was the lead statistician on a programme of research exploring alternative strategies for monitoring patients who have undergone curative surgery for colorectal cancer. During her time there, she was awarded a junior research fellowship at Kellogg College, University of Oxford.
