Monique Andersson

Lecturer in HBV

Dr Monique Andersson is a Consultant in Clinical Infection at the Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in Oxford. She is the Lead for Infection in Pregnancy and Deputy Director of the Microbiology Diagnostic Service. She is also an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer in Microbiology at the University of Oxford. She is also an Extraordinary Associate Professor of Medical Virology at the University of Stellenbosch, Cape Town, South Africa.

She trained in the UK but spent time working in her native South Africa on viral hepatitis. Her interests include infections in pregnancy, vaccination, STIs, and developing novel diagnostic technologies for application in resource-poor settings. Her particular area of interest is HBV.
