Dr Jessica Mendes

Jessica Andretta Mendes

Postdoctoral Spatial Modeller and Epidemiologist

Jessica has been working on the GRAM project since October 2023. Her duties include contributing to the update of a systematic review on the occurrence/prevalence of antimicrobial resistance, considering specific pathogens. In addition, she will work on estimating the prevalence of pathogenic resistance to antimicrobials. She will also conduct spatio-temporal analysis and create cartographic maps of the distribution of resistance for selected bacterial pathogen-drug combinations. This analysis will directly inform estimates of the global burden of AMR.

Jessica completed her master’s degree and Ph.D. in Geography at the University of Campinas, Brazil. During this period, she gained experience working on geospatial analysis and mapping infectious diseases, particularly dengue epidemics.
