In a paper published in the Malaria Journal, Rima Shretta estimates that the COVID-19 outbreak threatens this progress, as lockdowns limit access to health facilities and preventive malaria interventions have been interrupted. Ghana’s transition to a lower middle income status results in lower donor support for malaria control, and the government must step up to avert a feared rise in cases.
