The Oxford Tropical Network (OTN) Conference will take place from Sunday 8th until Wednesday 11th September at St Catherine's College, Oxford, United Kingdom; it is open to delegates by invitation only. The conference is an opportunity for colleagues in our Overseas Programmes and associated Oxford departments to learn about each other’s work in the areas of Tropical Medicine and Global Health, and to forge new collaborations on mutual areas of research.

THE PROGRAMME

OTN 2019 logoOn Sunday 8th there will be a welcome reception with drinks and canapés at The Divinity School, starting at 18:30.

On Monday 9th at 09:00 the conference will begin with Opening Remarks in the Bernard Sunley Lecture Theatre at St Catherine’s College. The scientific programme will include international speakers, presentations, poster displays, workshops, and social events. Delegates will be invited to submit poster(s) and presentation(s) in due course. There will be an hour-long poster reception at 17:30. Delegates will then have an hour to refresh before the start of the Gala reception at 19:30, followed by the Gala dinner at 20:00.

On Tuesday 10th the scientific programme will continue throughout the day. In the evening there will be a college dinner at 19:30 followed by music and entertainment from 20:30 onwards.

On Wednesday 11th the conference will officially finish after lunch, however there will be seminar rooms available until 17:00 for those wishing to hold training sessions or meetings.

PACKAGES & RATES

The residential package incorporates:

  • The conference registration fee
  • 3 nights’ accommodation at St Catherine’s College (arriving on Sun 8th Sept and departing on Wed 11th Sept 2019)
  • Welcome evening drinks and canapés at The Divinity School, Bodleian Library, Oxford
  • Breakfast, lunch and dinner on 9th and 10th at St Catherine’s College, Oxford
  • Breakfast and lunch on 11th at St Catherine’s College
  • All social events and workshops during the conference

The non-residential package includes all of the above apart from accommodation and breakfast.

If you require additional nights' accommodation at St Catherine’s College before and/or after the Conference you can make enquiries directly via St Catherine's College bed and breakfast. When searching for rooms please input code ‘OTN2019ROOMS'  to gain access to rooms specifically held for OTN 2019 delegates.

Accommodation is provided in single and twin rooms and our reserved accommodation is only for our delegates. During the registration you will be asked for your preference and we will endeavour to allocate you a room accordingly, however we regret we are unable to guarantee this due to limitations in available rooms. Check-in is from 14:00 and check-out is by 10:00; luggage storage will be provided.

Residential conference package rate: £540 per delegate

Non-residential conference package rate: £440 per day delegate

To qualify for the day delegate rate, applicants should be physically working in Oxford at the time of registering to the OTN conference.

TRAVEL

Delegates are requested to book their own travel and local transfers to and from Oxford, to make their own arrangements for an entry visa (if required) and arrange their own travel insurance cover. At request we will provide a letter to support a UK visa application (see registration form). These costs will not be reimbursed.
