International Graduate Students at Oxford
Around two thirds of our graduate students are international. Our prospective graduates often have questions for us about what it's like to come to Oxford and live in the UK, so we've put together some answers.
MSc International Health and Tropical Medicine
The MSc in International Health and Tropical Medicine provides a multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary foundation in global health. The full-time one-year multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary programme examines major challenges to the health of populations in resource-limited contexts. The course embraces the breadth and complexity of global health challenges facing resource-limited settings, and equips candidates with the tools and awareness to contribute to innovative solutions.
MSc in Modelling for Global Health
The MSc in Modelling for Global Health is a full-time one-year taught programme that provides interdisciplinary content on modelling, health evidence to inform the modelling, and policy processes to inform decisions. Week-long modules are delivered through a mix of interactive practical sessions and lectures in person at Oxford. Demand for a skilled workforce in this field is on the rise and there is great potential for mathematical and economic modelling to help guide policy for national health systems and international policymaking.
MSc in Health Service Improvement and Evaluation
MSc in Health Service Improvement and Evaluation (HSIE) is a full-time face-to-face course across one year of study. This unique MSc is led by the Health Systems Collaborative research group in collaboration with the Nuffield Department of Medicine’s Centre for Global Health Research at Oxford. This MSc is distinct from other global health or public health courses, providing you with theory alongside practical skills to implement health service improvement and evaluation in today’s complex healthcare and service environments.
DPhil in Clinical Medicine
As a part of the Nuffield Department of Medicine, the Centre offers doctoral studies through the NDM Prize Studentships. These are fully-funded awards and are open to outstanding candidates from any country without restriction. Admission to the DPhil in Clinical Medicine is competitive with academic excellence and research potential being assessed through the application form and an interview. The DPhil in Clinical Medicine is also offered on a part-time basis for students who wish to study for their DPhil around other commitments. NDM admits about 60 postgraduate students each year for study and research towards a Doctor of Philosophy (DPhil) degree, which is the University of Oxford's equivalent of a PhD.
