IHTM Research Placements

The third, or Trinity term, of IHTM involves an eight-week placement with a global health project in a resource limited setting. Travel, accommodation and research costs are funded by the course. Projects represent the range of subjects covered in the course and the project forms the basis of an independent 10,000-word dissertation to be submitted six weeks after the return from placement.

Many of the projects are hosted by the Oxford Tropical Network in various geographic regions, and projects change from year to year depending on research currently underway. Below are the research project placements available to the 2025–26 cohort of IHTM students.
