Dr Bo Gao
Bo received his PhD in Computer Science from the University of Warwick's High Performance Computing Group in 2015. His PhD work was awarded with the Faculty of Science Doctoral Thesis Awards in 2016. Bo subsequently worked as a postdoctoral fellow at Warwick Systems Biology Centre supporting infrastructure and software developments facilitating bioinformatics research until February 2017. For the rest of 2017, he developed an open platform for the evaluation of intelligent transport systems as a research fellow within the Engineering and Physical Sciences department at the University of Southampton. He also initiated research in vehicle behaviour analysis through continuous aerial imagery which was awarded the ADR Challenge fund from the University of Southampton where he remains as a visiting researcher.
At the beginning of 2018, Bo joined Oxford's Tropical Medicine group as a Research Associate in Mathematical Modelling. He is currently working on developing mathematical models that support the decision making process of malaria interventions. He also teaches the computing curriculum of the MSc in Modelling for Global Health course.
Bo also has an MSc in Computer Science awarded with distinction from the University of Warwick and a BA in Business Computing awarded with first class honours from Coventry University. Interim of his academic career, he also worked as a Forecast Analyst at Vodafone's supply chain for just under 2 years. Bo is a proud alumnus of Beijing No.4 High School.
