Raneem Aizouk
Mathematical Modeller
Raneem is interested in employing mathematical models, statistical techniques, spatial analyses, and machine learning to investigate infectious disease dynamics.
Her current research focuses on evaluating community interventions to reduce antimicrobial resistance transmission in rural Burkina Faso and the Democratic Republic Congo, which included adapting and developing methodologies for analysing household carriage data, incorporating genomics, and utilising data-augmented Markov chain Monte Carlo methods.
Previously, she developed an agent-based model of community-acquired urinary tract infection (UTI) burden in adults in an East African community and investigated the progression of antibiotic resistance in the bacterial population.
