Alice leads the PSI Policy and Practice Research Group. Alice's group undertakes applied research on the design and implementation of policy and practice for pandemic preparedness and response. Alice has particular interests in global frameworks for pandemic preparedness and response, research prioritisation and research funding systems.
Alice is Scientific Director for the Global Research Collaboration for Infectious Disease Preparedness (GloPID-R), undertaking research and policy development to support global research funders in their preparedness and response to infectious diseases. The Research and Policy team which Alice heads, focusses on a range of research to inform policy and direct policy development.
Alice is PI for the Pandemic PACT programme and previous Head of the COVID-19 Research Coordination and Learning Initiative (COVID CIRCLE), tracking research funding and identifying research needs to inform action in collaboration with key stakeholders including global research funders, WHO, GAVI and CEPI.
Alice is the Academic and Policy Lead for the Africa Pandemic Sciences Collaborative, working with the Science Foundation of Africa and Mastercard Foundation on Pandemic Sciences.
Alice is a Course Advisor for the International Health and Tropical Medicine masters course- focussing on global health policy and evaluation and leadership and am on the admissions, management and organisation panels and groups. Alice is also on the Oxford Policy Engagement Network Steering Group.
Alice's work is currently funded by Wellcome, IDRC (Canada), EDCTP, ANRS (France), WHO and UKRI.
Alice has sat on advisory boards for a range global health projects and has been a funding panellist and reviewer for global funders and journals and has over 20 years experience in global health. Alice has previously worked at Imperial College London, the Schistosomiasis Control Initiative, the Wellcome Trust and the UK Collaborative for Development Research.
