Honorary Visiting Research Fellow
Pavel Matousek is an Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC) Senior Fellow at the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory (STFC-UKRI). His research focuses on the development of advanced laser vibrational spectroscopy methods for probing deep within diffusely scattering media and through optically turbid barriers and applying these across multiple disciplines. Applications include non-invasive disease diagnosis in clinical settings (eg cancers and bones), security screening (airport security, field screening), cultural heritage (subsurface compositional analysis), pharmaceutical analysis (quality control) and forensic analysis (food and medicine).
