Teaching and Research Associate
Dr Beatrice Amboko is a Teaching and Research Associate for the MSc in Health Service Improvement and Evaluation (HSIE) at the Health Systems Collaborative, NDM Centre for Global Health Research. She holds a PhD in Epidemiology and Biostatistics from The Open University, UK, and an MSc in Medical Statistics and a BSc in Nursing from the University of Nairobi, Kenya.
Her doctoral research examined trends and determinants of the quality of outpatient malaria case management in Kenya, drawing on quantitative analyses of repeated national surveys alongside health systems and policy perspectives. Prior to joining HSC, she worked as a Post-Doctoral Researcher at the KEMRI-Wellcome Trust Research Programme in Kenya, where she led research on primary health care systems and community health strategies across Kenya, Ghana, and Rwanda using mixed methods and quasi experimental approaches. Her work has contributed to Ministry of Health decision making through technical support to national malaria monitoring and evaluation and participation in national primary health care technical working groups.
Within the MSc HSIE programme, Beatrice supports student development and welfare, coordinates course content across modules, and contributes to teaching, assessment, and student facing materials.
