Engagement Evaluation and Learning Lead
Dr Anne Osterrieder is the Engagement Evaluation and Learning Lead in the Department for Bioethics and Engagement at MORU (Mahidol Oxford Tropical Medicine Research Unit), Centre for Tropical Medicine and Global Health, University of Oxford. In her role she is supporting MORU’s community and stakeholder engagement activities on topics such as antimicrobial resistance, malaria, COVID-19, and bioethics. This includes conducting and supporting the evaluation of public engagement projects, coordinating the MORU Public Engagement Bursary Scheme, and leading the MORU Public Engagement training and capacity-building programme.
Anne obtained a PhD in Plant Cell Biology at Oxford Brookes University in 2008. She continued to work at Oxford Brookes in academic ‘hybrid’ roles until she joined MORU in 2019, allowing her to combine her interests in biology, higher education and science communication. Anne has experience in a wide range of public engagement activities, including public and patient involvement groups, participatory dialogues, stakeholder engagement, science festivals, as well as social media and online engagement.
