Previous Experience

Joyline has over 8 years of experience in public health and health systems research, applying social science methods in low-resource settings. Her work focuses on the health workforce, maternal and child health, community engagement, and research ethics. Prior to joining Oxford, she worked at the KEMRI–Wellcome Trust Research Programme (KWTRP) in Kenya, where she conducted qualitative research with frontline health workers and community members in public health facilities. This work directly informs her DPhil research, which explores moral distress, moral injury, and everyday resilience among frontline maternity healthcare providers in Kenya.
