Today’s Epi/Stats teaching explored sources of error in epidemiological research and focused on bias, random and systemic error, and confounding.

Students learnt how to identify bias in published studies and how to minimise bias in the design of their own research. They enjoyed a practical representation of error when they were divided into groups and were asked to estimate volumes of water.
