- Head of COVID CIRCLE
I am Head of the COVID-19 Research Coordination and Learning Initiative (COVID CIRCLE). This is a joint initiative between the UK Collaborative on Development Research (UKCDR) and the Global Research Collaboration for Infectious Disease Preparedness (GloPID-R) established to coordinate funding efforts, connect networks of researchers, and collate learnings to inform future epidemic and pandemic responses with a focus on lower-resource settings.
I’m an infectious disease epidemiologist by training, undertaking my PhD and Post- Doctoral Research Associate work at Imperial College London on Neglected Tropical Diseases. I worked as a Programme Manager for the Schistosomiasis Control Initiative in Tanzania, before joining the Wellcome Trust where I worked for nine years on global health funding, policy and developed a new global health insight and analysis function.
