Dphil Student of Clinical Medicine

Rachel's research focuses on modelling burden estimates and understanding the dynamics and drivers of antimicrobial resistance (AMR), with a particular emphasis on Escherichia coli at a global scale.

Before her doctoral studies, Rachel worked as a Research Scientist at the KEMRI-Wellcome Trust Research Programme, where she led the implementation of the health economics component of a clinical trial investigating ivermectin Mass Drug Administration (MDA) for malaria control in Kenya. She also studied antibiotic prescribing patterns in Kenyan hospitals through the Initiative to Develop African Research Leaders (IDeAL) programme.

Rachel holds a Master of Public Health in Epidemiology and Biostatistics from the University of Nairobi and a Bachelor of Science in Public Health from Moi University.
