Kirtlington House, set in acres of beautiful parkland with views across to the Chiltern Hills, provided a stunning setting for the final day of this year’s course. The agenda focused on student feedback covering various aspects of the MSc, beginning with placements and dissertations, and moving onto general feedback about content and delivery. There was very useful, constructive discussion which gave faculty plenty to consider for the course moving forward.
Everyone at IHTM was delighted to be joined by Brian Angus, Professor and Reader in Infectious Diseases and the Director of the Oxford Centre for Clinical Tropical Medicine and Global Health. Professor Angus was integral to establishing IHTM which celebrates its 10th anniversary when the new student cohort joins in October this year.
Professor Angus said, “It was such a pleasure seeing this latest cohort of students completing the Master’s in International Health and Tropical Medicine at the retreat. In particular welcoming them into the network of over 200 alumni all over the world supporting each other in improving global health in low- and middle-income countries.”
Students enjoyed a relaxed day with time to explore the house and gardens in the sunshine before returning to Oxford for a farewell dinner at St Hilda’s College.
